2022 In Review
When thinking back on 2022, many words come to mind when I think about Girls on the Run, including adventure, growth, and opportunity. Among these words and many more, woven throughout are the themes of connection and empowerment.
GOTR NOVA formed hundreds of new connections with coaches, volunteers, teams, and community partners. This gave more kids the opportunity to join a team and make new connections with classmates and neighbors.
While some connections were brand new, others grew! GOTR NOVA formed new connections with local charitable organizations, which provided snacks to teams in need. The connection with the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) grew and GOTR NOVA was able to serve 97 participants during 2022 at six different APAH locations. Learn more about these in our Annual Report.
Many kids were empowered by the Girls on the Run program and let us know why they enjoyed GOTR!
Parents/Guardians saw the tremendous impact the program had on them as well.
We wouldn’t have this impact without our incredible coaches. Thank you to the nearly 800 volunteer coaches who helped make our Spring and Fall 2022 seasons such a success for our nearly 3,370 participants.
As we prepare to welcome 2023, many people take this opportunity to set New Year’s intentions and goals. We can help with this!
