Fall 2021

Celebratory 5K

____________________________________________________

November 21, 2021

The Girls on the Run end-of-season 5K is a true celebration of confidence.  We will celebrate the accomplishments of all program participants across the region with a  5K presented by Cigna.

This season we will celebrate with a combined 5K. Girls from all GOTR NOVA teams will celebrate together at Reston Town Center.

Important reminders:

All virtual runners must register by November 3 to receive a 5K celebration package in the mail or from packet pickup events!  After November 3, all virtual registrants will receive a virtual rally package with a printable bib.

5K shirts are only guaranteed to those who register for the 5K before October 10

Girls in the program do not need to register for the 5K as it is part of their program registration.

Physical activity is woven into our program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health. At the end of each season, the girls participate in a Girls on the Run 5K event. This celebratory, non- competitive event is the culminating experience of the curriculum. Completing the 5K gives the girls a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment when the girls realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible.

VIRTUAL 5K: Complete with your family member(s)! You choose the time and place one day that weekend to walk, run, or roll a 5K.

Combined 5K: Complete the 5K with the GOTR NOVA community on November 21st.

Important reminder: Girls in the program do not need to register for the 5K as it is part of their program registration.
